Welcome to my portfolio!

 

I’m Xinyu Zhang, also known as Layne—a passionate game designer dedicated to crafting meaningful experiences through creative gameplay mechanics and storytelling levels that support multiple playstyles.

I love designing in collaborative environments—it keeps ideas fresh and challenges me to grow. That mindset carried into Asurya’s Embers, a team-developed bow-and-arrow FPS where I designed gameplay mechanics and led the design of a full level. Meanwhile, in the solo project Predator’s Ploy, I designed a fully custom roguelike gameplay from the ground up, with dynamic progression, meaningful choices, and player-driven rewards shaping each run.
